Halloween event

Scene of the Crime

A Halloween event, planned and styled by Keira: red-lit rooms, fairy lights, dressed doors and skeletons in surprising places.

The HALLOWEEN wall
A door covered with a window cling of bloody handprints and a shadowy figure, lit red

Glowing dancing skeletons on a television screen, framed with cobwebs and plastic spiders
Dancing skeletons
Orange cocktails in martini glasses with jelly eyeballs and sweet worms, beside bowls of eyeball sweets
Eyeball cocktails
A living room lit red, with fairy lights along the mantelpiece and a body outline taped on the floor

The details that made it

  • Lighting sets the mood: fairy lights and lamps at dusk, then the red wash comes up as the evening goes on
  • Dressed doors, from knockers to window clings
  • A “Wanted” poster for every guest
  • A body outline in masking tape on the floor, with skeletons in surprising spots
  • Eerie food and drink: eyeballs, skulls, worms and potions
  • Lace, cobwebs and spiders to dress each table
